What 9 mm gives you

The round, plush teddy bear finish. It takes out the weight, the tangles and the density that make brushing a chore, and leaves enough coat behind that the dog still looks fluffy. This is where a clip stops looking like a clip and starts looking like a style.

Pick this one if

• You want the soft, rounded teddy bear look on body and legs
• The dog looks bare and skinny the moment the coat comes off
• It is autumn or winter and a little more coat is a kindness
• The coat is thick or curly and needs thinning out, not taking down

Brush the coat through properly first. A longer blade cannot cut cleanly through a knot, so ten minutes with a brush makes the difference.

Fitting it takes seconds

Switch the clipper off. Lift the old blade away, seat the 9 mm blade on the head and press until it sits straight. Add a drop of oil along the teeth, run it for a few seconds, then wipe the rest off.

The comb attachments that came with your clipper only fit the 1.5 mm blade. They do not go on the longer blades. Blade oil is sold separately: see Clipper Oil. Fits the Dog Clipper Pro.
